DWELLING IN THE PAST CAUSING US TO HAVE NEGATIVE EMOTIONS

    I want to encourage our readers concerning the topic on Dwelling In the past. I use to be a pro at this, believe me I use to be stuck like really bad. There are many reasons why this is so unhealthy. I want to share with you how this has effected me and how the Lord lead me out of the wilderness of negative past emotions. Our mind leads us to our emotions and my mind use to take me back to the past all the time. I must say doing this SELF-PITY was attached to it. I really had thought in my mind that I had justifiable reasons to feel sorry for myself. I had come from a very hard and difficult childhood, where there had been neglect and other issues, that had not yet been known to me. But through time the Lord revealed truth, to help set me free.

    I want to let you know I am now 51 and I had not been set free from my negative past emotions until a couple of years ago, so this had been on me for a long time.

    Now if you are reading this and you have this problem believe me the Lord wants you set free more than you could imagine. Because when we are stuck, we become stagnated in that part of our lives. And the Lord wants us to lead a full and abundant life in all areas of our lives.

    I use to go over the same thing over and over and over again. I was not moving forward, I continued in my bitterness and anger and ill feelings towards the person and people who had effected my life negatively. I really do not know how my husband was able to deal with it back than but he did and I am thankful to God for him.

    I really in my heart had wanted to do things God's way, because God's word says seek me and you will find me. I wanted God's answers but it was difficult when the negatives were trying to full my heart.   All I can say " don't give up and quit, keep seeking for God's way of doing things."

    I am happy to tell you the key to my success (God's light reveals all) God showed me that unforgiving was in my heart, against people who had hurt me, neglected me and caused me pain in the past. It was through Forgiveness ( which was me forgiving people) that ended up setting ME free. It was a process. It took time for the seed of forgiveness to take root. And for God to accomplish his plans for my life. I praise you Lord for setting me free.

    I am here to encourage you to start making the steps you need to take to be set free.

Here are the steps:

Realize you have the problem
Address the problem
Know the trust in God's word
Seek God out with your whole self
Be prepared to change and be corrected                                                 God is a kind and gentle God, He will correct you, but it's not condemning.
We need to be open to God's correction

He does set us straight, but for our own good!
And allow people to pray for you and with you

God really does set us free.

    Here are some important scriptures I learned to help me overcome dwelling in the past.

    Philippians 3:13b   "but one thing I do : Forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead"

    Colossians 3:13 "Be gentle and forbearing with one another and , if one has a difference against another, readily pardoning each other; even as the Lord has freely forgiven you, so much you also forgive".

    2 Timothy 3:16 " Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by his inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, and for training in righteousness".

    Proverbs 3:12 "For whom the Lord loves He corrects, even as a Father corrects the son in whom he delights".

    Deuteronomy 4:29   "But it from there you will seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you truly seek him with all your heart and mind and soul and life".

    Luke 11:10   "For everyone who asks and keeps on asking receives; and he who seeks and you shall find; knock and keep on knocking and the door shall be open to you".

    John 8:32 "And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free".

    Prayer: Heavenly Father we thank you for this day and the wisdom you have for us, through your word , everyday. Continue to lead and guide us into all truth. Amen
